Have a Win2k with a strange prob , server with me for a long time 3 years. It cannot produce logs for web sites, no matter how I enable it, anyone has any idea on what happen? Same config as any other of my web servers. Just this one wont produce web logs.

maybe MetaEdit (http://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/Q232/0/68.ASP) will reveal something that the MMC is not showing.

I used Meta Edit cant figure wats wrong still : ( any particular info on Meta Edit I should keep an eye on?

check the entries for the logfiles in the /LM/W3SVC path. especially around ID4000 which seems to have all the log file related data on my server.

is Enable Logging checked in the Master Properties for that server?

Yeap it is enabled. /LM/W3SVC entries similar to other servers. Strange thing is only W3 log cannot be generated, smtp logs and ftp logs are generated in logfile directory without problem.

No event logs of any relations to this. Nothing just that logs wont come out for web sites. Have tried the above , doesnt seem to work. Any microsoft forums that I can post? This is a 3 year prob , want to solve it once and for all. Hopefully
