I'm looking for a control panel that will work on Debian. Most of what I see out there only work on Red Hat. Does anything work on Debian?! Any suggestions? Thanks.

Matt (SH)Saeed 11-20-2001, 02:25 PM We're running Debian on our servers. We haven't found any good control panels for it yet, I guess H-Sphere would work, but we're most likely going to write our own. Well, that pretty much sucks.... will you be selling your control panel when it's done? When are you looking to start development? I don't think we will be selling it since it will be fully customized for our servers and needs. But you'll never know. By the way, take a look at http://webcp.can-host.com/ I'm not sure if it will work on Debian, but even if it won't, I'm sure you can have someone fix that for a small fee. I've already looked at that... I couldn't get it to work... I'll give it another shot though. bobcares 11-26-2001, 03:20 PM Debian is a wonderful flavour... I like it..... :) I think cpanel works on debian. I'm not sure though. You could however try asking the cpanel guys about it. Have a great day :) Regards Amar (SH)Saeed 11-26-2001, 08:30 PM Here is the first screenshot of our control panel that is currently under development. This is the account information screen where the user can view his/hers account info (obviously... doh!). The control panel should work on all flavours of Linux/Unix with a little tweaking. PM/email us if you have any comments or suggestions. Sorry for bluring some parts of the image. We are not ready to go official yet. PS. The gay looking guy on the left is going to be replaced very soon. :D (make sure you maximize the image if you're using IE 6, as you know it shrinks the images to fit the window) Smirks 11-26-2001, 08:58 PM Originally posted by Mr. Amazon Here is the first screenshot of our control panel that is currently under development. Oh, and you forgot to blur out the stuff in the titlebar.... (SH)Saeed 11-26-2001, 09:24 PM Originally posted by Smirks Any ideas on when it'll be ready? Oh, and you forgot to blur out the stuff in the titlebar.... Hehehe. Thanks for letting me know :D The plan is to make it complete enough so the users can manage the most important aspects of their account and then we open our doors. After that we can work on it and improve it as we go along and after our clients needs and wants. Smirks 11-26-2001, 09:38 PM Originally posted by Mr. Amazon Hehehe. Can I help you test it? ;) ... besides, I did help you with a 'bug' in your screenshot... ;) (SH)Saeed 11-26-2001, 09:50 PM Originally posted by Smirks Can I help you test it? ;) ... besides, I did help you with a 'bug' in your screenshot... ;) Thanks for the offer. I will let you know if we need any beta testers when it's a little more complete. Cheers.. Jag 11-27-2001, 12:34 AM Smirks, I've Pm'd you . I have some information that may be what your seeking. ;) bitserve 11-27-2001, 01:09 AM The guy on the left DOES look very happy. Too happy. I have a comment on the bars for the quota. When I saw the red bar, I immediately thought something was wrong. Because typically, that's what red means, right? Like it was over the limit or something. You basically have three bars too show one value. Personally, I'd try something like. |gggggggggggggggg | g = green, and the bar on the right is your quota. If they're getting over half full, you could use yellow |yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy | And near full: |rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr | Our's just shows text: KBytes Used | Quota | Files Used | Quota 10292 100000 258 100000 But thats just my bright idea of the day. I think I'll have to implement it in our control panel, so thanks for that light bulb. Smirks 11-28-2001, 12:09 PM Originally posted by Mr. Amazon Thanks for the offer.
