View Full Version : cheapest domain registars?
sashka 11-19-2001, 01:49 PM hi,
what is cheapest domain registration service out there?
as far as I remember, .com, .net, .org are $8.85/year at stargatenic
.biz, .info, .com, .net, .org - $9.99/year @ registerfly..
is there any cheaper registars?
thanks
TheOp 11-19-2001, 09:00 PM Don't think so...Think 8.85 at stargateinc.com is the lowest.

Yeah, but I got some 999 error in the final step. So, I went to gandi where I have an account and they have made it easier now but it is 2+ dollars more/domain. The important thing was that I wanted to register them and be done with, even if it means paying a couple of more dollars. I was originally tempted to use stargate because they have $8/domain if you register more than 2 and I wanted to register 3.
new-webmaser 11-20-2001, 10:06 AM *****.com $6.95/year

*****.com $6.95/year
***********.com $1.00/year
Don't you think these kind of posts are stupid?

Hey, have you ever think of godaddy.com?
Domenico: the ***** in the new-webmaster's post might mean that the word is censored on the forums. So the software automatically removes it and replaces letters with *.
Either that, or new-webmaster has way too much time on his hands :D

mahinder 11-21-2001, 07:48 AM dotregistrar.com have lowest prices ($6.49 > 2000 domains in year) and resellers api. but i have never used there services.
had anyone else used there services !!
:)
Quill 11-22-2001, 07:13 AM But that is for over 2000 domain registered! How can you call it have the lowest price?
mattan 11-22-2001, 10:53 AM The are the cheapest we've found so far (for resellers). 7.75 for a .com
Nestle 11-22-2001, 08:11 PM namecheap is 8.88 for .com .net .org .info .biz and .ws (maybe .nu also .. not sure about this one)
P.S .info and .biz the price is per year but you have to register for 2 years minimum
Smear 11-23-2001, 01:51 AM http://weblaunching.net is $12/year, but they have an advantage over all of those other cheap registrars is that you can change all info on the web in realtime, whereas all others require printed, notarized documents for ownership changes and other junk.
jeffrylee 11-23-2001, 08:08 AM Every new domain registrars are doing that.
You can certainly change DNS, contacts AND registrar info with htt://stargateinc.com, all real-time, trough web. I beleive most other registrars allow this now.
But yes, a couple of months ago, you couldn't change registrar real-time with stargate.

netserve 11-24-2001, 06:07 AM Two registrars hit the $6 to $8 range.
http://www.srsplus.com
and
http://www.onlinenic.com
I've not tried either of them.
edude 11-24-2001, 07:05 AM If no one has mentioned it yet, powerpipe.com = $8.88/year
Rating: :) :) :) :) :)
