They deleted my site (by accident ??) and cannot restore it.

In addition, they ignore my email and phone calls. It takes weeks to track down anyone knowledgeable.

So much for 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed.

They never backed up my site. Not once. Can you believe that?

ny777, I feel very sorry for you. Are you saying that they accidentally deleted your site, and don't even have any backups, and you don't have any copies of your site either? :::glares at *****:::

I used to think that ***** was "alright", but after reading this, I'm not so sure anymore. If you live in the US and have access to their toll free number, I'd make sure to call them OVER AND OVER AGAIN until they resolve this.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

That's because I sent it through WHT.

I'll send you another email.

6 months later the ***** saga continues . . .

They charged my credit card twice in the last 2 months even though I closed my account last year.

Watch your credit card bills! These guys are creative like Enron!

What's wrong with all the Texas companies? Waste Management, Enron, *****

Hi, im not in any way backing ***** infact I had a very bad experience with their network about a year ago and ended up leaving them.

BUT the question remains, did you pay for a regular backup of your site? its the same in any environment, you value your data so much that you should get it backed up.

Billing, well yeah, i admit their billing sucks badly, always has and probably always will.

Getting back to the backups, there is nothing at all you can do unless you paid for backups, ask any host, they never make backups unless you pay for them!! remember that forever, next host, ask them how much it is monthly for a backup solution.

Yes, I can believe that.

What's with the asterisks here? Is this site under some sort of legal restraint where they can't mention certain companies by name for fear of a libel suit?

No, **'s happen when they're on the banned list.

Their little monkeys come on here every so often and tell us how great they are (posing as clients, of course), and the CEO's mother has threatened lawsuits... bunch of jokers.

xtstrike I think you are totally wrong I just checked C I H O S T and it clearly states that they offer daily backups for all of their accounts. If I was you ny777 depending where you are if you are in the US it will cost about 30 dollars at least here in New York for you to take a company to court. And if you really want to get fancy get a lawyer and sue the heck out of them. They offer and claim daily back up now they tell you that they lost your info and don't have a backup you have allready won the case.

xtstrike if you go here

http://tihost.com/?zone=products/shared_unix_hosting (replace the t with a c) if you scroll down to where it says site monitoring right under it it indicates daily backups and it says YES across the board.

Also if you click on daily back ups this is what it says:

Daily Backups
We do daily backups of your sites data and your email spool file. In the event you lose or corrupt any of your data you may request a restore from our technical support department.

So there is a case againsts them unless they are full of shiet for witch they will have to pay for.

if you go here http://tihost.com/?zone=products/shared_unix_hosting_features#SiteBackups (Replace the T with a C) you will read the following:

Off-Site Backup Tape Storage
Every 2 weeks Tihost (replace T with a C) rotates the off-site backup tapes with new, current copies to ensure even in the most catastrophic events, your data remains safe and can be restored instantly.

if this happend to me i will have my attorneys up their you know what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed, I read it for myself, as they say in the real world

"go get em tiger"

unless they have anything saying they are not liable for any business downtime or loss of data in their contracts then you will be up for a good case but I am not one to argue this matter now.

^^Grin You Proven Me Wrong^^ ;)

*althought proving me wrong isnt that difficult :)
