Ok, here we go - I'm in need of free control panel for LAMP (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP) server. Webmin is ok. for system administration, installing rpm's etc., but it's not usable in terms of "hosting control panel".
There are many free control panels avaiable for *nix systems. Most of them are listed at http://freshmeat.net, some of them was discussed here. I also found small website with reviews of some of them - http://www.kamsel.net (looks like, that this guy play with all of them). But it's not enough - I would like to hear something from this (free) cpanels (lol) users... So I ask you: write a brief description of your free control panel, pros, cons etc. - so your opinion can help someone to decide which one to choose. I would like to start, but I don't have any control panel currently installed (however I'm going to test Virtuamin and Zpanel) :(
I count on you ;) Thanks for the support.

P.S. If you run hosting company and use one of the free c-panels, please post your url!

I used ZPanel for windows. The worst piece of script ever to be available on the internet! If I had to rate it on a scale of 0-5, I would give it a minus 1. It was so bad I deleted it!
I have used Webmin, it is good. Not great, good.

There is a much amount of data on this. Try a search. My standard reply use Webmin, Virtualmin,Usermin should do the trick for Linux Controlpanel. Actually how bad is zpanel? I was thinking of trying for the Windows. Can share your experience with us?

Zpanel is not really bad ..

It just isnt really suited for a Commercial application.

If you were to offer free hosting for friends and Neighbors, it works great .

What type of features would you like coded into ZPanel to provide you with more of a commercial feel? Also, if you need installation help, please visit the forums. Remember to create your database first, this is a common mistake. thezpanel.com
