Hi All,
Can any kind soul shed a light on this(a detailed tutorial would be nice):
**I want to have my own webmail interface. I want to set up SquirrelMail.
**I am on shared hosting plan, NO root access.
Can this be done??

impossible!
if u want using SquirrelMail, you must have root access, because u must set up the system and apache.
BTW, if u using shared hosting plan, that is no any sense for install mail system. normally, web-mail system install for provides mail service.

Why would it be impossible? Squirrelmail's just like any other program written in PHP... Unpack it and follow the installation instructions. As long as you can access your mail server via IMAP, you shouldn't need anything else.

I am not sure about Squirrelmail but I know Horde can be installed without root access. Also I think Horde is better. ;)

I look through the installation guide...but seems it uses root access for installation...

What trouble are you running into? I just glanced through the INSTALL file from 1.4.2 and didn't see anything that would require root. Granted, you'll need to install it within your home directory instead of /var, but that's a given.
