Hmmm.. just found out that SM upped their bandwidth allowance by 200GB... .strange. A week ago, I got one of their server with the old allowance... O well, but I got mine with a free control panel.., so it's not a very big deal.

So how much is it anyway? Is it something really crazy like some of the server companies fighting for position at the bottom of the market over $25 accounts?

did you notice they upped the price for server 1.2.3.5 by 10 to 20 dollars each?

yep...

is it just me... or does upping bandwidth 200 gb seem like an empty promise?
just making the number look bigger, but not really giving much more....

Yeah I just noticed the changes today. Though the price increase doesn't change my opinion on SM a bit.

Good! :)

Cpanel was never 'free' to them, and their servers are very low cost anyhow... Only made sense that prices go up a bit.

Burst is increasing thier price for cpanel as well.

Cpanel is extra $20 monthly, unless you catch some promotion

Yep, well, how many of you really used up 1000GB bandwidth?

er if we've been a customer for a while they cant just change the price right? and will i still get 1200gb compared to the 1000gb i signed up for at the time i signed up?

I run some very busy gameservers and 850GB has been the max I have used in a month. There are most likely very few using 1000GB right now.

They will honor your current price with 1000GB of bandwidth. However, if you want 1200GB then you have to pay the increased price.

All existing customers maintain the price and setup from when they first signed up for their server. Any server setup changes, price difference, or otherwise retains the entire length of your time with the server - unless during extreme circumstances, where it is noted.

In fact I have a customer with a single site on them, on a RLX server (2000GB allowance) hitting 1750GB/month :)
Yes, some people use all that =)

pfft using a mighty 100 gb out of it. Doesn't bother me that much to be honest.
