View Full Version : High Bandwidth Host

One of my client is using about 2 gigs a day on transfer. It is obviously not possible for me to host that type of site. It is not a porn, mp3, downloads, streaming site. It is just purely HTML and graphics files.

He's looking to pay about $15

Does anyone have any suggestion?

I'm trying to help him find a host :))

No host's gonna give $15/month and do 2 GIGs/day! LOL 2 X 30 = 60 GIGs, which pretty much means it's time to step up to a dedicated server, or charge him for bandwidth. That is, unless he goes an *cough**hack*unlimited transfer*hack**cough* host ;)

The only one I can think of which even comes barely close to 60GIGs/month is Tera-Byte and HostRocket, but that's about it.

Tell him to stretch his budget much further or spread it out over a few accounts or go to a free host.

The problem with him is that he doen'st generate any income from teh traffic. He said he hate banner ads.

$15 is the max he can afford :) he said.

Why did you let him use so much in the first place?

Tell him sorry. There is no magic way to stretch $15 to cover the costs of the site. He doesn't want advertsing to support the site, so he'll have to come up with it out of pocket. He'll change his mind soon enough.

Well.. I've try to convinced him for days.. but no luck :)) hehe..

Let it be. but what i'm afraid of is that he might come accross a Unlimited Host and sign up with them...

Save him please!

I'd like to save him.......

But that account right there would cost me about 130+ a month to host.........

I don't think anybody would eat over 100 dollars in costs.......
Its just not fesiable.

Its one thing to eat a few dollars, but not over 100.

I recall there was a host here who advertised unlimited transfer, but wrote off extra bandwidth as advertising expenses.... Hmmm, DH, maybe you'd like to search for this host then send your client his way?

why doesn't he run his images and larger files off of a free server? that should save plenty of bandwidth. and hell, i went over my 5gig limit for the first time this month. and my site averages maybe 300 to 500 hits a day. :/

Well jonelin, *that* would esentially be bandwidth stealing, heh, but aside from that, many of the big free providers have something in place so this can't be done. I'm sure many don't though.

The cheapest high bandwidth host I have seen is:

http://www.dc20.com/highbandwidth.htm

But is still not even near $15 a month.

I agree...

the MINIMUM you can find 60 GB for would be $60 USD monthly.

And that is the bare minimum... if the guy reach 60 gb the host is making absolutely no cash at all :)

well if he doesn't believe you that bandwidth cost that much... tell him to try an unlimited bandwidth for $5 per kmonth host... and bet with him how long he'll stay there before getting kicked out or going away because it was too slow :)

Ok..

I finally convinced him to use banner ads to generate some income...

he said max now is $25 hahahahah :)

Any host want him?

Let me know.

Well, that probably violates something or other. Next time please just email Dynasty directly. I don't want to kill the helping process, but you guys make it hard by greying the lines a bit :)

In case you're still looking for a high-bandwidth host under $25, you might want to try CommuniTech.net... I have no experience with them personally, but they do offer "Unlimited traffic" and say that they have several clients that server over 100 GB per month.

Their hosting plans are as low as $22.95 per month.

Hmmm...I did a quick search through the forums and Communitech hasn't exactly had glowing reviews. :-) So you could still consider it, but be sure to read through other people's comments about their service.

Good luck.

Sure they have 'several' sites using 100's of Gb's and paying $20/mo. Do you believe that? Read those glowing reviews and then pick someone more reputable (at least for high bandwidth).

Was it here, or somewhere else I was having a discussion about load balancing between two mirror sites using round robin DNS.

Anyway, that would spread the bandwidth between various hosting accounts.

Has he not heard of Gifwizard etc?
