View Full Version : ReflexHost - Who Can You Trust These Days?
cyx0n 11-18-2001, 03:35 PM I cannot believe the mess I've been in. First the 49Pence.com crap who constantly email to notify of their "OC3" upgrades while their site is slow as hell. Next, it's ReflexHost who I didn't hear one bad thing about, good reputation everywhere on the web, no complaints and fast service, next thing I know, it shuts down, the most irresponsible behavior from a webhost to date. I demand a full refund for this irresponsible behavior Who can you trust these days? Can anyone make any decent recommendations? I will NOT buy any more hosting from the UK, so can anyone recommend a reliable US host?
hypnus 11-18-2001, 03:46 PM reflexhost shut down their business?
iBusinessLawyer 11-18-2001, 03:51 PM A member of the Reflexhost troika resigned on Thursday, and has asserted on WHT that Reflexhost is planning to turn belly-up. The remainining Reflexhosters really need to respond right away to Matthew Russell's post, reprinted below:

To clarify:
I resigned from my position at ReflexHost on Thursday, due to a number of reasons. I cannot discuss these in detail, but in brief it was because of a major disagreement with one of the directors.
Regarding the Linux expertise, there is the knowledge remaining in ReflexHost to sort the problem out, but due to financial difficulties and remaining rifts in the company, I believe ReflexHost are going to terminate business. I therefore recommend that you look elsewhere for hosting.

i think its a bit unfair to presume that every uk hosting company isnt going to be good just because a couple were not good.
2Grumpy 11-18-2001, 04:07 PM I know absolutely nothing about ReflexHost. However the post you referenced looked to me, in my opinion, to easily be "ex Employee sour grapes" trying to cause some hurt to the company he feels jilted by.
However opinions are just that. IF I were with ReflexHost I'd probably be keeping an eye open and be shopping new hosts but I'd like to see more than the disgruntled ravings of one ex Employee.
cyx0n 11-18-2001, 04:23 PM It's actually quite true, I got an email from 2CheckOut.com, the payment service they're using saying the credit card billing was stopped and another message from ReflexHost telling the same thing.

This, I assure you, is not the case. I have no bad feelings towards ReflexHost. I resigned from ReflexHost, so I have no reason to feel jilted by them.
I said what I said because that is what I had heard.

Just saying as a disinterested 3rd party I'd like to see more than one ex-employee's words, now we (what I believe) is a customer saying the credit card company told him they were not taking new charges, ok time to flee ship like it was burning and I was a rat (were I with them). With that much evidence you'd be silly to wait around now.
Not knocking you just saying I'd need more than just one person's word on something like this.
Matlok 11-18-2001, 05:32 PM I was with them since last week. Not long after that there were these simple serverproblems, but it struck me that it took so long to solve it. Therefore I immediately opened an account with another host and moved all my stuff away.
I've now mailed them for the 30-days money back guarantee.
I hope they will actually give it back.......
ReflexHost_M,
You must be really valuable there, because you quit and everything started to go down.

Most companies providing internet services (hosting, design, etc.) are only made up of a small group of people.
ReflexHost_M 11-18-2001, 06:39 PM Palm, are you trying to say I was the only one that worked there? 3 were employed by ReflexHost, along with some contract work, fyi.
