Hi,
I was hoping you all could offer some advice to me, I am currently a hosting reseller but am now looking into offering my own services with my own dedicated servers.
I am thinking of a Dual P3 1Ghz 1GB Ram for W2k Hosting and another for Linux hosting (RedHat 7.1)
Then I was thinking of a P3 1Ghz 256MB Ram for Control Panel and DNS1 and another for Email server (for both W2k and Linux) and DNS2
I would like a separate server for MySQL but cannot afford that at the moment - so I guess that would go on the Linux server.
I hope to us H-Sphere control panel to tie this all together.
I expect to have around 300 site on each hosting server - I would expect the specs for hosting are fine for that number of sites - but I am not too sure for the email and DNS servers.
I will also have those 'free forwarding' accounts that are given away with domains - I have taken these into consideration for hosting - should these be held on a separate lower spec machine? I would think need much in the way of power?
Something I'm not sure about aswell is a firewall, are software ones a viable option? If so any suggestions?
I would appreciate any help and suggestions
Thanks for all your help
