i have been hosting a domain on a raq, i'll call it domain.com
i also created a nameserver called ns1.domain.com
so i named my raq ns1.domain.com. is this necessary for my raq to be seen as a nameserver, or is registering ns1.domain.com as a host pointing to my IP suficient for my raq to be seen as a nameserver?
i'm asking this because, for some various reasons, i'm deleting ns1.domain.com as a host and registering ns1.domain.org as a nameserver, and i don't feel like switching all my domains around on my raq. i'd like to change the name of my raq from ns1.domain.com to www.domain.com and have it seen as a host(nameserver) by just registering ns1.domain.org as a nameserver.
i hope i'm making sense :)
