View Full Version : Kernel updates for redhat 8 - where?

I have a cPanel box on redhat 8. I'm curious what everyone else is doing for kernel upgrades - every time a new vulnerability is announced I end up looking around for way longer than I should or compiling myself. Fedora legacy doesn't seem to be really putting out the updates... :(.

atm the best would be compiling your self

You can sign up for updated packages here: http://www.fedoralegacy.org/

Also, http://kernel.org is a good place do download kernels. Some assembly required. :)

I would go with the Fedora Legacy project. Infact they will (for those on RH9) be offering the same updates for RH9 users sometime shortly after April 30th.

I always compile myself on Debian boxes. That is because I'm very comfortable with Debian... I really dislike Redhat. It seems so clunky. With RH & cPanel I'd rather used packaged kernels.

Re: http://prism2.unixguru.raleigh.nc.us/v20/rh8-index.html, who is that, do they have a reputation, and how often are they updated?

Re: Fedora Legacy, the problem is they don't seem to be putting out updates! There have been new vulnerabilities for a while and they don't seem to be putting out new packages.
