Hi,

I'm hoping some of you can help me with suggestions. I have some pretty specific needs.

Right now I run a site with a UBB message board; I'm hosted by UGO. I've had problems with the board files getting corrupted a few times over the last year. Occasionally the server is sluggish. Most notably the tech support is lacking and the webmaster "control panel" features are nearly non-existant.

What I'd like to do is set up a satellite website mainly for my message board. I want to keep the main site where it's at on UGO for now. So basically what I need above all is a host that has very good uptime and is fast, and of course runs CGI/perl, maybe PHP (I may switch to vBulletin in the future) and about 100MB space. Traffic isn't a concern at this point; I only have about 450 members (maybe two or three dozen are active). I'm willing to pay a little extra if the host is exceptional.

Any suggestions?

I agree, Web Hosting Network is fast and tech support is good too. The only problem for you would be using UBB on their servers. Here is a quote from their TOS:
Due to the heavy server resources required, we have changed our terms and conditions to specifically prohibit the use of UBB (Ultimate Bulletin Board) and YABB (Yet Another Bulletin Board). We do have alternative boards we recommend, such as VBulletin or phpBB, which are MySQL database driven boards, versus using flat file databases...
If you switch to phpBB or VBulletin (there are many coversion scripts out for both), you shouldn't have a problem at all with WHN.

Well, since www-hosting doesn't support UBB, perhaps you can try phpwebhosting.com (http://phpwebhosting.com)

Thanks for the ideas. Web Hosting Network looks good, but I don't like the non-UBB limitation...I'll keep looking. Thanks. ;)
