All the more reason to have school vouchers! Put the power of education back in the hands of parents where it belongs.

Good. The student had something that could cause the teacher a allergic reaction and could place her in the hospital..

It's no different if he had Mase, a gun, a knife or anything else.

there is a huge diffrence. its peanut butter. not mace. not a knife. nor a gun.

I guess the main thing would be here is if the students and parents knew of the allergy. if they know then yes the child may get in trouble but i don't think suspending the child for over a month and a half because he brough a cookie to school is fair.

Sad some schools are just stupid. It was cookies I think the teacher can defend him/her self from a child with cookies.

Not like the little kid is going to force the teacher to eat them and tie her up or somthing...

You guys would be looking at this a whole different way... let's say YOU were allergic to peanut butter or peanuts. Let's say that you were so allergic that if you hate a peanut, you're throat would swell up, causing you a great amount of pain, you're bp would rise, you'd begin to itchy, and you could even die.

Now let's say someone who you aren't "real" good friends with you told you "imma put some peanuts or peanutbutter in your meal when you're not looking".

You wouldn't take it as a joke, and you wouldn't take it very easy either.

Hahah that's great. Though the whole story of both parties involved is lacking, I can get a pretty funny picture from it. This is something I thought I'd never read about.

The father said Jules was carrying a snack packet of Nutter Butter cookies and did make a comment about having "something dangerous" but never said he had a weapon.

My god people. Its just a cookie for christ's sake! The school should be the one to blame. They should have medicine on school grounds that could help a person out if they have a allergic reaction. You'd be surprized how many teachers lie and go on a power trip.

There are many sides to a story. We are only getting part of one story and we will never know the entire truthful story.
The way some kids think now days is amazing to me.
What happened to our kids being taught right from wrong?

Wait... one minute everyone is saying that the schools should have more pwoer over the students, now everyone is saying they are over reacting. I think schools should allow to beat the students. Kid wants to **** and try to "threaten" the teacher, fine, but let his little azz get whooped while he does it.

Students have too many rights in school and it's getting out of hand.

2 weeks ago a student told my mother to "shut the **** up and go suck a ----". The student is in 7th grade. She was neither suspended or punished. The only reason she was expelled finally is because she later went up to my mother and said she was going to "call the mafia on her" (my mom is Italian). The school took that as discrimination and she was expelled.

Next time, I say beat her butt until she knows her role.

Very true.... when I was in 4th grade and didn't turn in my homework, I got a swat from the Principle who got the OK to do it from my father. It didn't hurt me a bit and it did get me off my bum to do my work. :D

I beg to differ.

The child is 13, old enough to know that in America's tense state right now, any threat (even an empty one) will result in severe punishment. If the teacher had an anaphylaxis to peanuts, the child could have been threatening with anthrax to the same result. The fact of the matter is that if the teacher ingested even a minute amount, (s)he could easily go into anaphylactic shock and die.

If anyone is stupid enough to joke about carrying dangerous substances to school, they deserve the adequate punishment. I'd much rather see this child suspended than witness another Columbine.

"Gabriel said the teacher was not exposed to the cookies and had no reaction."

lol

That crack's me up. Like another poster said...there are main sides to the story and we're only hearing one side of it.
