ThomasC 04-23-2004, 01:28 AM Bank of Scotland Halifax :) http://www.bankofscotlandhalifax.co.uk/ You can sign up online, however you need to mail them things :) Regards, Thomas Currie stlem 04-23-2004, 01:35 AM Thanks :) SimonMc 04-23-2004, 04:01 AM egg.com is an online bank in the UK. Simon stlem 04-23-2004, 04:05 AM Is it possible for me to create account there if I live outside UK ? 777 04-24-2004, 11:05 AM You'll specifically need a non residents account. I can't see how you could easily sign up from remote, although there might be a foreign branch local to you and you could reister there. acidbase 04-24-2004, 11:10 AM If you are looking for a UK Bank, why don't you try HSBC in your country since you can get better customer service from your local branch? tazd9t9 04-24-2004, 11:41 AM Most of the UK banks have online sign ups but you need to pos or take in ID, a lot like you to take it in so they can see you face to face - you may be better with an online only bank like egg.com or smile.co.uk but im not sure on their position as to non - UK residents, they like to credit check you etc and i think they can only do that within the UK so its probably a lot more complicated DanH 04-25-2004, 02:58 AM Its very unlikely that you'll get a bank account in the UK online. Due to money laundering regulations, they need to check that you have a UK address and use the voters roll to confirm it. I used to work for one of the UK's biggest financial institution and I can guarantee you that the vast majority are going to say no. Your only hope may be as Acidbase suggested, HSBC, but I'm pretty sure they still wont let you have a strictly UK account. stlem 04-26-2004, 01:58 AM I'll check HSBC if they help me. Thanks guys :) |
