View Full Version : Flash and Layers in DreamWeaver

Hi all-

I am not developer (not even close;) ), but am playing around with a design for a friend.

I created a little something in Swish with shapes moving. My idea was to put this object in a layer in DreamWeaver. Then, a new layer would be created (on top of the first layer), in which content would be entered. The end result was suppose to be a cool, animated, flashy background, with content in front of it. The second layer would make it easy for my friend to update the website. Unfortunately, it did not work. It works with anything other than a flash object. I tried a graphic, instead of the flash object.....it worked. However, it will only show the flash object, and not the content layer.

Is there a way to get this to work with the flash in the first layer? I have visited a multitude of tutorials, but can't figure this one out.

Thanks,
Lamar

Surely, out of all the experts here, someone can answer this.:)

Hmmm... been using Dreamweaver a long time - even used layers a few times, but the problem is that it was a while ago.

I went in and tried some things myself though.

Didn't work. I can't get text to sit on top of a flash object - only under it. Maybe someone more familiar with this process will jump in here and answer this with some confidence, but as far as I can telll, it's not possible (though there may be something else you can do that would match the functionality that you are looking for).

Don't lose hope though - someone could come along and say, "of course this is possible, just do this...". Wouldn't suprise me ;)
