I'm not sure where to post this, so I thought I'd post it here.

I have a server at RackShack and I'm looking for someone who would like to purchase it from me. I'm asking for $2000

The server details are as follows:
RAQ 4i 256 MB RAM, 20GB HDD, bandwidth allowed 300GB, bandwidth used (around 20GB), $99 per month to maintain ($250 setup fee already paid, so you'll basically be getting a server without the setup fee). If you want, you can get RS to clean out the server so it's near brand new and you can use it for your own purposes.

The following software is installed:
Webalizer 2.0
SquirrelMail with a number of plugins (accessible through anydomain.com/mail)
Custom control panel (http://www.vehost.com/membersdemo), fully integrated with Autosetup from Northwesthost (+ I'll give you source codes)
Phpmyadmin/MySQL
Any support you need. I'd really prefer a good host as I want the customers to remain satisfied.

Additions:
$600 worth of banner advertising at v3exchange.com (4947 clicks remaining). You can upload your own banner and change the URL.
You will get ownership of the domain, vehost.com

Customer Payment Details:
$80 annual payment dates...
(These domains are primary accounts)
0 x January
2 x February
2 x March
0 x April
2 x May
1 x June
4 x July
2 x August
7 x September
5 x October
6 x November
2 x December

33 domains total

2 of the above domains are on Win2000 servers

$45 annual payment dates...
(These domains are resold accounts)
3 x September
1 x October
1 x November

All these domains are on UNIX server

$50 per month being paid by 1 domain
$500 per year being paid by 3 domain each August, August and October
(These 2 domains are Super Reseller accounts, they can add as many domains as they like as long as the space used is under 5GB and transfers under 100GB) - Once you take control, you can re-negotiate with these customers what you can provide them.

4 adult sites @ $120 per year
50MB and 2GB transfer limit for these sites

Total sites, 46 sites.

Modifications required:
After purchase, you will need to change the credit card provider to your own merchant.

Reason for leaving:
Don't have time to maintain customers and server anymore. I need someone reliable to make sure that the customers remain happy with the service.

Payment plan:
As this is a risk, I am willing to take monthly payments and I will remain by your side to ensure a smooth transition to your company.

Please PM me or email me if you are interested.

It's down at the moment. But it'll be back up in about 15 minutes. I'm hoping to sell this server by the end of the day.

If anyone is interested, I'll even help with the transfer of the customers to your company by providing support to the customers during the transfer.

46 customers - 2k

I think this is asking for a little much,

Joe

Rackshack does not allow adult sites.

How much is your server costing per month?

Look at the annual return rate on the investment, though. If your support department can handle 46 new customers in one fell swoop like that, and you can administer a Raq server (heh), it's a pretty fair return.

VeHost, I tried to contacted you by mail and pm but you didn't respond, would you mind getting back to me?

Sorry, I'm trying to reply to all the email at once and it's making my eyes dreary. Had to sleep for a while and ended up sleeping for a few hours, go figure...

Anyway, you should be getting a reply very soon.

Btw, the adult sites are hosted on another server. If you don't want these customers, I can simply tell them that we will not be renewing their accounts.

Plus I am willing to help you work through the customer transfer. I will not disappear and leave you with everything that you are unfamiliar with.

Better go reply to some email...

This maybe the case but it is relative.

Let say you advertise and acquire each customer at a cost of $10.

50 customers would cost you $500 ... The asking price here would not be good at all.

If it costs you $50 to acquire each customer, then this price would be excellent for you.

You have to also consider the extras that would come with this offer. Maybe the price is not as bad as you think.

Just keeping everyone up to date.

I have had a lot of interest since I made this post and here's an update to the stage we're at.

I will be making up my mind as to which company I will be selling the business to. The choice will depend on 2 things:

1) How well I believe the company will serve the customers
2) The payment plan agreed to

There is also another condition that I must add. A few of the customers have requested that I stay on and be their support rep, that is I continue to provide support for them or they will go elsewhere. Therefore I am requesting that I be allowed to provide support to these customers (I will not ask for anything in return), just the ability to help these customers. The payments that these customers make will go to the eventual buyer.

I will announce the company who has bought VeHost once the arrangements have gone through, if they want it to be known.

I will be deciding in 10 hours, give or take a few hours in case the buyer is not online at the time, from the time I make this post (that's around 9:15 am according to the time stated in these forums - ie. GMT + 10)

my worry if i wanted to buy this company is the reason behind the sellers want to sell so fast, understandable would be a week of talks and questions and answers and stuff, but just a few days? doesnt sound like enough time to make up my mind if i was a serious buyer (which i am not )

I was just about to revise that date I posted before.

I was hoping that things could be finalised very quickly but it doesn't look that way. I guess I was a bit too ambitious.

There are still a number of discussions going on and it may not be for another week before the company properly changes hands.

Just letting everyone know that the company has now been sold. VeHost will now be known as a subsidiary of VoilaWeb

We are currently finalising discussions regarding the transfer of ownership and very soon, you will see a brand new VeHost emerge.

I am very grateful to all those of you who have made bids for the company. It was a very tough decision to make towards the end as many of you have extraordinary support - the most critical factor in the decision process. However the differentiating factor came down to the culture of the buyer's organisation.

I am very sad to let my company go but let me say that I am very happy for it to enter the hands of a very reliable and trustworthy organisation, VoilaWeb - a company whose support is very timely and fits in extraordinarily well with the culture of VeHost.

Again, I thank you all for your time
