Beware of http://www.one2host.com
My story is a upsetting one.. so beware. :)
It all started when I read a post at WebHostingTalk by:
Tuvok (Brian Shawa)
Marketing Manager for http://www.one2host.com
This guy has the gull to call himself professional!
Well I ICQ him about this post.. Here is how it starts:

YourHostSu 11/17/20 9:33 AM Hello, I am writing in responce to your post
at WHT (
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s
&threadid=26326 )
Tuvok 11/17/20 9:34 AM hi
YourHostSu 11/17/20 9:35 AM What exactly do you need done.... and are
there still openings?
Tuvok 11/17/20 9:37 AM yes there are, the work is quite a lot so i
have split it into portions, basically the
work pays $100 for about 600 names give or
take a few and depending on your speed it
should take just about 30sec to do each name
or less
Ok so there are still openings and well lets get down to business...
Tuvok 11/17/20 9:50 AM ok please download the client ou will need and
install it
ftp://ftp.menandmice.com/pub/quickdns/WinManag
r.exe
YourHostSu 11/17/20 9:51 AM ok
Ok.. so I download this program, and I am ready to get to work.
Tuvok 11/17/20 10:04 AM i am just rebooting back soon
YourHostSu 11/17/20 10:05 AM ok
YourHostSu 11/17/20 10:25 AM Ok I have QuickDNS Manager Installed and up..
Tuvok 11/17/20 10:26 AM ok, i am sending you two files
YourHostSu 11/17/20 10:26 AM ok
So far so good...
YourHostSu 11/17/20 10:31 AM I recieved one file.
Tuvok 11/17/20 10:31 AM whats the name of the file i just sent please?
YourHostSu 11/17/20 10:31 AM ip20.com.txt
YourHostSu 11/17/20 10:33 AM Ok I have both files.
Tuvok 11/17/20 10:35 AM ok, give me 1min
YourHostSu 11/17/20 10:35 AM Ok
Tuvok 11/17/20 10:42 AM back in 2mins
YourHostSu 11/17/20 10:42 AM ok
YourHostSu 11/17/20 11:06 AM I am not sure if it matters, but that list you
sent me only had 256 domains on it.
Tuvok 11/17/20 11:07 AM thats ok, the other one may have a bit more
when i send it, can you start in about 3hrs
because right now someone else is working on
another list, i wasnow aware they had started,
they had said they were stepping out, so can i
let you know when you can start on you ok
YourHostSu 11/17/20 11:08 AM Ok, So you will contact me when the job is
ready to go? (about 3 hrs)
Tuvok 11/17/20 11:09 AM yes i will
YourHostSu 11/17/20 11:09 AM No Problem, I will be on. :)
Tuvok 11/17/20 11:09 AM great thanx speak to you later
Ok well a little stump, need to wait 3 hrs for the other guy to finish...
--
Well after about 3 and 1/2 hours I ICQ him again to see what the status on the
other persons job is...
YourHostSu 11/17/20 2:44 PM Hey Brian,
I do not mean to pester you..
Just had a question anent this job, If you
know about how much longer before you will
need me to start. :)
Tuvok 11/17/20 2:45 PM the other gys are still at it, but i have
reserved 600 for you
YourHostSu 11/17/20 2:46 PM Ok, Thanks
Well ok that did not answer my question, but he did confirm he had 600 set aside for me to do....
So after about 5 1/2 hours of waiting I am forced to ICQ him once again....
YourHostSu 11/17/20 8:19 PM Hello, I really do not like to pester...
But I am sure you understand why I do.. :)
So I am just wondering what the status on the
prior job is?
(If this is going to happen today, or If I
should expect to wait until tomorrow)
I am not sure what time zone you are in, but
it is 8pm here (EST)
Thanks,
Well he never replied to me at all after this.....
So finally at around 10:30 PM I sent him a PM at WebHostingTalk on this subject..
He never replied to this PM...
Finally the next day I ICQ him again just to ask him to go read him PM at WebHostingTalk..
YourHostSu 11/18/20 8:26 AM I take it you do not have email sent to you
when you receive a PM at WebHostingTalk?
Well I would appreciate it if you would go
there and read the PM I sent very late last
night.
Thanks,
So.... he never replied to this message either...
--
Well I woke up that day.. planning for it to be a good one....
But O NO... It was a very bad one..
I find one2host.coms actions were not very nice at all, let alone VERY unprofessional.
I went to WebHostingTalk and read one2host.com's post
(saying to myself, man these guys need some help ASAP).
So I contact them via ICQ.. They have me download a program..
Then tell me at about 11:00am EST that someone else has started theirs and they will need me in 3 hours.
Well around 2:30pm EST I contacted them again to check on the status of the situation.
Their reply was "I have set aside 600 for you, they are not done yet)..
(*I Think* not really the answer I need, but ok.. I will wait some more..)..
Finally at about 8:00pm EST.. I try to contact them again.. and get no response..
(never got a reply from them again) .. They just signed off ICQ.
Hummm...
Well Now this leads me to believe that I just wasted a day of my life for nothing but to get scammed
(what would you think?)...
I personally had plans for that day, yet I cancelled them because one2host.com made it sound as if they
really needed help (ASAP).. So in a effort to help one2host.com out.. I stay at home and cancel all of
my plans for the day.
I am not very happy at all about this.. as I was home all day for nothing..
I wanted to take my kid out and visit family.. but no.. I stay home to help one2host.com guys out.
I wasted a day of my life to help one2host.com.. and for what.. *nothing*
I warn you... Beware of this Hosting Company(one2host.com), I do not get how they can call themselves "Professional"...
YourHostSucks.com
TimPD 11-21-2001, 12:02 PM Thanks for that advice I icqed him asking him if he had anyone and he said from wht and it was probadly you. so thanks for the advice *removes from icq list*
Aloha
hmmm 6 posts and the I need help ASAP
I would always give benefit of doubt like you did (YHS)
yeah this is not cool to do to someone
I get this a lot " HELP I AM IN A HURRY"
I now run form these kind of people or else I tell them its going to cost you.
I am just getting tired of people like this and starting more of my own personal projects.
in the future when someone wants something like this I would say $$$$$ up front.
tuvok 11-22-2001, 10:00 PM This is a bit silly of YourHostSuck to say such a thing in a forum jus because the work went to someone else, guys i had one job and over 100 responses, i handled them as best as anyone could have been resonably expected to, so come on lets try to be grown up about this, the job got doen and the person who did it got paid EXACTLY what i had promised ..........
so do say such a silly thing like avoid one2host.com just cause i could not offer the jpb to you is a bit unreasonable and petty....
so get over it already.

I don't speak for anyone else, but regardless of the amount of requests, I would certainly expect MUCH more than what was shown to YHS.
At the very least a reply to his ICQs with a brief explanation would suffice.
(And yes I have been completely convinced to stay away from one2host.com ...You are basically saying that once you have over 100 customers you will completely disregard customer service and common courtesy)

You are kidding right??
I mean come on.....
I think anyone who reads this story can plainly see your character and know to stay away from you.
----
1) We talk about the job
2) We figure out how you will pay me
3) You have me download the program
4) You tell me my job will start in 3 hours
5) After 3 hours I ask how it is going,
You confirm you have set aside 600 accounts for me to enter, and that the other person is still working on the prior job.
6) After that you totally ignore me, and I have yet to hear from you....
And you thing you did nothing wrong? LOL!
I suggest you read my whole post (our conversations)
and look at it as if you were me..
I got the job, you confirmed I got the job...
Then ignore me..
I wasted a day of my life to help you guys and I got scre***...
Plain and simple, I am clueless as to how you think you have done nothing wrong...
My previous post speaks for itself....

  Even I can see what went on.
Looks like, if nothing else, a lack of professionalism on tuvok's part.
smartbackups 11-23-2001, 12:17 AM You know IANAL, but, it sounds like a contract was made, he told you want he wanted done, you accepted, he sent you two files, you agreed on a rate....Sounds like the right thing for him to do is to pay you the agreed upon sum. :)
Freedom 11-23-2001, 01:01 AM I fully agree...
Any idea how I might go about getting paid for the job I was hired for?
Brian Farkas 11-23-2001, 01:14 AM Unless you can get him to pay, your only other real option is taking him to small claims court. The question is whether you want to go through all that for $100. I do agree that he should pay you, though.
Freedom 11-23-2001, 01:41 AM I can't even get him to talk to me..
Last time he said anything to me was:
Tuvok 11/17/20 2:45 PM the other gys are still at it, but i have
reserved 600 for you
Get-Hosted.com 11-23-2001, 03:35 AM Did you really want this job anyway?
6 hours of pure work on a repeating task would Really be a pain.
Nothing wrong with wanting it though, I just don't see it being worth it.
DougBTX 11-23-2001, 01:05 PM If its a windows app..you could probably put a VBS script together to control it...?
Same technology used in the latest round of e-mail viruses :)
Later,
Dougals
cabalstudios 11-23-2001, 02:07 PM guys/gals take it easy.....
One of our designers did some work for him, and got payed $375 the next day, this can prove the fact that he wasnt lying about the fact that someone was doing work on the servers.....
They did have server problems which were fixed, and my designer got back to work.
What I dont understand is why you people have to degrade a business, tell other people to stay away, when its got nothing to do with the business one2host.com
If Brian made a mistake whats that goto do with the business one2host.com, as I know Brian does not own that business.......

So, if he doesn't own One2Host, then they should have a talk with him and tell him to quit representing them.

Regardless if you did work for them or not...
I was hired..
I wasted a day of my life waiting around to help them...
(giving up going out with my family)
I got screw*d...

Hurm... What I dont understand is how you you can make this statement...
Not many people that *own* a company even step foot on the production floor.... so come on..
Brian is a "Marketing Manager" for this company and he represents them....
If a company's Management acts like this.... I think it says alot about them (nothing good).....
