Does anyone know if there are any datacentres in Scotland and if so where are there and is there any info on them?
Or does anyone offer dedicated servers in Scotland?

Your probably better off couriering your box(es) to London Docklands though... (no disrespect to the Below Zero guys, of course). Really cheap colo now ! Worth giving them a call I think. :) ThomasC 06-02-2004, 05:01 AM Is there not someone at BelowZero called Chris? Its either very poor spamming, or someone trying to fake spam, badly! Regards, Thomas Currie Fatty 06-02-2004, 05:02 AM The UK is way expensive for hosting and just about anything else. :-) I am based in Scotland as well, Glasgow. But even though I have thought of co-lo in the past. The expense for a lot of BW is prohibitive. Plus all out users are in the US :) So even if we wanted to the revenue we generate in dollars is goes further in the USA than it would in UK. Especailly with the pound so strong. But I am sure Zero and others are good options if you really need to co-lo in Scotland. Loon 06-02-2004, 06:29 AM check out http://iomarthosting.com/dedicatedservers.htm they use the scolocate datacenter. Fatty 06-02-2004, 06:33 AM Some huge clients there.... ThomasC 06-02-2004, 06:34 AM Just what i was thinking :) Regards, Thomas Currie reanncw 06-02-2004, 06:42 AM 40GB for 219 Pounds. Wow. To think i was interested in getting a dedicated server there ;) xtraordinary 06-02-2004, 07:20 AM Scolocate is the only 'carrier neutral' datacentre in Scotland, and where most of the major carriers have their POPs. Off the top of my head the main hosting co's in Scolocate are Iomart, EQSN, Ednet, Abel and ourselves. Below0 are I believe in a PSInet POP in the centre of Edinburgh. |
