I prefer IPBoard. Also Vb 3.

Using the handy dandy search feature on this mboard will reveal many threads on this topic.

vBulletin. I own two of them. You get what you pay for.

I hate vbulletin 3.x, vbulletin 2.x is okay. But right now, i'm an Invision Board man.

almost every forum system out there has an integrated portal system, i believe vbulletin's is a hack though. Invision Board comes with it by default.

And the Invision Power Board Portal will probably be enhanced later this year once Matt gets v2.0 out.

I operate 12 IPB boards myself and think they are great. Easy to work with and to skin as well.

Invision board for free, VB for paid.

IPB + vBulletin are both great; phpBB.... yuck.
