Hello,
My root (/) partition is 75% full. How do I change all the loggin etc. to be in a partition that has more space?
What do most people do to combat this potential problem?
thanks

You can symlink a lot of your / partition into the /home partition.. just make sure you don't delete any important files in the process.. and don't go around as root on your box and download files, etc.. that's what admin, and the normal users are for.
First thing i'd do is go into root's home dir and get rid of any junk you have in there.. source files, etc.. that usually frees up some space. There are some good tutorials in the cobalt users mailing list (available at cobalt.com) on what in the / partition you can move over to /home.. good luck!

I think cobalt has released a patch for this problem (could be something simular though).

good luck!

Ii have the same problem now for about two weeks and still can't get it to come down at all. I applied the patch and that didn't do anything for that problem in root.
It corrects it by moving the log files to the home dir.
So if some one no's the real way to lower the root let all us no how. I have deleted all I can and it is still at 74% with the yellow lite on.
