Honest Disclaimers and Notes:
1. I don't work for Rackspace
2. I'm a happy Rackspace customer
3. This special is not available from their website
4. My account manager at Rackspace offered this to me, and I'm just passing it on.
5. I *do* get a little something from Rackspace out of anybody who signs up :-)
6. This offer is genuine and the details are correct to my best knowledge.

The only way for you to be eligible for this special is for me to refer you directly to my account manager at Rackspace. He will then contact you with the details, and you can ask him any questions you might have.

In order for me to refer you, I'll need your name and email address, and a phone number if you want to be contacted by phone. You can email your details to me at cw@nerraw.com

Cheers!

Is Rackspace in trouble??? This offer is somewhat low for their usual prices.

Well, I am very satisfied with the current arrangement I have secured, but this sounds like a good one..

what makes rackshakc can afford 300GB on the raq4 for only $99/mo but can't do so with this linux box? 10GB is punny ... the extra bandwith charge is expensive ... I really better go somewhere else at this price ... Not to mention people start to complain about rackshack connectivity in rackshack's own forum (some people only get a punny 13KB/s I heard) ....

cheers,

The question is what can you do with a 500Mhz k-2. And ther network isn't that great. NAC's net is much better than theirs.

the question is what cant you really do with 500mhz. Sure if you use this to host sites its not the best choice but for one or two sites that have 10 gigs or less of traffic it should be fine.

No one seems to complain about the fact that the raq 4s run AMD 450s and can run 200 mediocre trafficed sites with no huge problems, so why not 500? :)

What do you mean by $500 credit? Are you saying that they are going to give you $500 after hosting just 3 months!?

Really? But NAC does not have 99.999% of network uptime guarante, does it? If it does, will you give that network uptime guarantee? ;)

WebSeeker Did you not read wtww's original message? He said, "The only way for you to be eligible for this special is for me to refer you directly to my account manager at Rackspace. He will then contact you with the details, and you can ask him any questions you might have."

It's obviously not a regular offer. Other companies like Dialtone, etc. also have specials like this on their older, "used" systems and they typically don't last long. I contacted wtww on Nov. 16th, and even by that time they had run out of servers at that price. Some people out there must've gotten that great deal, though...

You're right I didn't remember the way I could have the offer just copy the features and the prices BUT when I contact the sales representative I said to him :

1. "I saw an offer at webhostingtalk.com from a person I didn't write down him name and I want to see if it's valid"
2. He said that the offer doesn't exist ANYMORE and that it has the same offer with 150$, 6 months contract and no setup fee. He also said that "50 USD more isn't a big increase"

He also asked me my details to contact someone (maybe his supervisor) and decide if they do this to me or not (until now didn't receive anything)
That's why I post the reply
However if again I'm wrong I apologize from the original sender
