Hi, I am looking into going with a colocation company. I wanted to know what are the pros and cons of doing so. My business has already grown to over 25 Cobalt servers so I think its time to go to go this way.

Can any one tell me what are the pros and cons that I should look into.

Also can any one tell me what equipment you think I need, things other then the servers.

Last I would like to build a control panel probley based off of the freevsd software I want to know if there is any one who would be willing to build this and for how much. Please email this to me and not post it here. derrick@cheaphostonline.net

Thanks

You might want to level up the floor ( 1 or 2 sq feet).
That way, you can suck up the cool air up and out the top of the rack.

Nevermind.
Not many facility do it that way.

The purpose of it is to pump air-conditioned air into the rack from the floor.

Have a large fan on top of the rack. Its purpose is to suck up & out the warm air, and pull the air conditioned air from the floor up to the top of the rack.

The reason to raise the floor up 1 or 2 sq feet is too put air-conditioned air inside that 1-2 sq feet high floor.

Raised flooring. Very good idea. Especially if you run power under the floor, and network above the racks... it keeps electrical interference to a minimum.
