How can that be?
According to whois.sc
It's on hold
Active
Expires next year
It doesn't work
I guess there's an easy answer to that!?

when a domain expire the registry add 1 year and waits for the registrar to send DELETE command and delete the domain.
registrar asks the customer to renew and wait from 1 - 45 days
if customer did not renew, registrar send DELETE command to registry and domain status change from registrar-hold to redemption period and refund the registrar the year he added while waiting for the customer.
:)
Hi Bashar and thank you very much for your prompt reply.
I understand why it expires next year now.
What I don't understand is why it's status is set to ACTIVE.
What does that mean?

thats cached entry in whois.sc database
for most accurate data goto http://www.internic.net/whois.html
you will see the registry expire date 1 year more and if you query the registrar whois server you will see its expiration date set to this year.
What can I say?
Thanks again Bashar, very kind of you!
