View Full Version : Cheapest way to transfer money?

I'm going to need to accept a multiple credit card payments totally $2-3,000 in a month. I've looked a ProPay and PayPal, but both have only $1,000 limits and require significant deposits to go above that. Since this is more or less a one time thing I don't want to waste money an a merchant account, what are my options?

Speaking of money transfer, I once heard a guy call into a radio show thinking Western Union was a group of countries (or country) in the Middle East. Just makes me laugh sometimes to see people showing their knowledge off like that. ;)

PayPal Business/Premier accounts can't receive unlimited credit card payments from users. The limit (1000.00) you are mentioning is in place until the user verifies their identity to limit the amount of damage someone can do with a stolen credit card (which ends up protecting the merchant).

PLMK if I can clarify this.

Err... you are referring to a user can only receive USD$1,000 in total for that particular month or from each sender?

Thanks.

Actually I've been using them myself for a few small things lately and found their service far better than I would have presumed.. Umm, sorry if that sounds odd Damon. :)

I'm looking at moving three websites to using paypal, either in full, or as an option over the next month or two.

.. oh and the t-shirts were kind of neat too :)

We currently don't have a way to verify a user's identity in Canada without a credit card. We are looking at additional options, but I can't say if they will be put in place. My apologies for the inconvenience.

How about vendors in Sweden? Will you be able to transfer money here? I asked about it two years ago, and a nice lady replied that you were working on it... I have waited, and waited... :-) My customers keep asking for it.

We are trying to add as many countries as possible to ach withdrawal capability---but we generally have to work on a number of items to make it available. A user in Sweden, provided they could confirm a credit card and add a US Bank account, could withdraw money.

Hi Damon,

Thanks for the reply! Wow, you guys are quick. :-) It's the same when I wrote to your support a couple of times earlier.

Yes, that's what I was told before, but I haven't found any way to get an american bank account. They say I need an american social security number, but I'll investigate further.

I would recommend checking out the banks at www.fdic.gov---there should be a list of banks to check there.

The international team is looking at ways of supporting withdrawals in India, but I am not sure when/if it will happen.
