Hi,

I came across Host2Own (by Cari.net?) and they have a dedicated linux server for $100 a month with 60GB of bandwidth, $250 set up. I know Cari.net is a big provider for people to resell Dialup/Web.... How is their service? Anyone use them? Anyone have this $100 a month server? Seems to me like it might be a decent alternative to a rackshack or 4webspace RAQ.

Also, I have asked this before but not gotten responses.. For those of you that have dedicated servers and offer hosting accounts, I would like to hear some of your users to bandwidth used numbers. I am trying to figure out what 50 to 100 users take up on bandwidth. I know it will vary depending on the type of users, but I would like to hear some numbers. PM me if you wish.

Thanks!

One of the best tools in it is the search button.

It gave you some reading to do ;) http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=159428&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending

I didn't notice anything negative really.
You'll just have to read and draw your own conclusion.
There are a couple people around here that use them. Maybe they'll stop in here and share.

Good luck.

I haven't heard anything bad about Host2Own.

So I guess they are ok.

Yeah I just realized, duh just do a search. Call me lazy today ;) lol.

I just re-read their site and I guess I misread it. I thought the $100 a month included 60GB of bandwidth. I do not see a mention of how much bandwidth is included or what it costs? I see for over 800Gbit it says something about $100 a month extra. But what does it come with by default I am wondering?

I emailed them but have yet to hear from them.

Thanks!

Actually only about half of 200 sites is active (produces any bandwidth at all). The top site uses 13 GB a month, maybe a dozen uses 2-3 GB/mo. each, the rest uses less than 500 MB a month each. My bandwidth graphs: www.rackshack.net/bandwidth/workdir1/216.40.212.243_13.html

hello all,
I too looked at host2own, but started to become weary.
Don't forget the <B>$50/mo "Wholesaler Fee"</B>, which I thought was a load of !@#@. Their IBiz panel is useless since you can go buy a product that does the same thing with way more options without a monthly fee.

I DO like the lease to own option though! Seems like you at least get something after being a loyal customer.

As for the other posts about nickel and diming you to death and charging you for setting up PHP, mySQL, etc.. I don't know about that since I haven't signed the deal.. All the contact I've had with them they were upfront about all costs I could think of.. I never asked them about the php, etc..

Except for owning the server after 24 months, I fail to see the ROI when you can choose something like rackshack.net, colo.. etc..
