I know it sounds silly but I just want to increase my chances.. Someone else is winining at $500... Thanks frattay22 04-15-2004, 03:10 PM Maybe go to godaddy.com and buy a buyback there as well. Try a copule other places, might cost alittle of money but if you can get that back in the first month of you having the domain name why not? Postmaster 04-15-2004, 03:13 PM Yep but for the auction to go in in pool.com means that they have already caught it............ silhouette 04-15-2004, 03:14 PM Be sure to monitor VERY CLOSELY during the last 1/2 hr...people waiting quietly out there and charge in the very last min.... speaking of my "bad" experience though:D eSology 04-15-2004, 03:15 PM Depends how good the name is. If it is worth it put your highest bid in towards the end just like good ol' eBay auctions. silhouette 04-15-2004, 03:17 PM Originally posted by acts837 .......put your highest bid in towards the end just like good ol' eBay auctions. quite true:) I used to do that during my ebay-days:D eSology 04-15-2004, 03:19 PM Member since Feb-21-99. "Knock on wood" I haven't been burnt yet. othellotech 04-15-2004, 03:19 PM set a max price you are prepared to pay for the domain *AND STICK TO IT* eSology 04-15-2004, 03:21 PM Postmaster - do your research and know what your highest dollar amount is before the auction draws to a close. There is nothing worse than winning an auction to realize later that you got caught in the hype and overspent! dmaven 04-15-2004, 03:32 PM Originally posted by frattay22 Maybe go to godaddy.com and buy a buyback there as well. Not a good idea, godaddy's success rate is poor. Try namewinner as an alternative frattay22 04-15-2004, 03:36 PM I am sorry for my post :) I have never used any services like pool.com godaddy.com namewinner.com etc... I thought Pool.com was the same, but it isn't and I learned what it was. Thanks again. Postmaster 04-15-2004, 03:44 PM Np mate.... Since Im not going to bother auctioning for the domain its artdealer.com which I must say is exelent.... You guys should know that pool.com have chnaged the way the auction works.... If last minite bids fall in then the time is now extented for 5 minites after afew bids then its extended for 2 minites everytime after.... Just an other way pool.com can leach more money out of people..... Thanks for all your tips keep em coming... othellotech 04-15-2004, 05:17 PM strange .. that domain has 8 months of registration left ... Expiration Date: 30-jan-2005 Postmaster 04-15-2004, 05:48 PM Thats really wierd...... www.whois.sc ICANN Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC. Created: 29-jan-1996 Expires: 30-jan-2005 Status: PENDINGDELETE obviously since pool.com as it, its been renewed... Which would explain the 2005 expirey... Also its on for $1150 thats way too much if you ask me... Research Names 04-15-2004, 05:54 PM Have a bucket of cash handy! Bashar 04-15-2004, 08:28 PM pool auctions wont stop unless all bidders stop bidding, not like old days, i had bids in the last 10 - 3 seconds before they change to this greedy style :) Postmaster, for this domain if u saw seen.com it was expiring 2006 or 2008 but it was pending delete because the registrar DELETED it and it had more years togo. Postmaster 04-16-2004, 04:42 AM so you mean it was an accident by the registar? Could this mean that its dodgy to own. Bashar 04-16-2004, 11:13 AM accident or deleted due it was fraudlent registration urbanweb 04-16-2004, 12:29 PM yes godaddy success rate is the poorest in my opinion. so many good domains I would have had but they failed on every single one of them. I wish they can give a refund back because I dont know what to do with all my backorder credits I have with them Postmaster 04-16-2004, 04:13 PM Mate, you did realise that if you did one backorder and it failed you can reuse it for a year? Unless you were backordering multiple names of course..... urbanweb 04-23-2004, 03:32 PM Yes I know but whats the point of adding another domain to it when the success rate is only 1%? Thats why I wish if there is some type of way I can at least upgrade my domain with my backorder credit I wont be using anymore remyx 04-23-2004, 10:45 PM Im very lucky when using godaddy, I guess. |
