Hello,

I am trying to find hosting services who provide MSSQL server or shared SQL but stumbled with the word "Microsoft Certified Partner".

In order to be an Application Serive Provider (such as MSSQL), does a provider needs to be Microsoft Certified Partner?

What about those hosting providers who sell shared MS SQL Database to customers? Most of them are not certified, are they?

Please share your experience or knowledge about this. Thank you.

Paulie

You don't have to be 'licensed' by anyone.

This is just a company that has met some requirements about number of employees that are MS certified and have paid a fee to Micro$oft so they can get referrall (and use the logo)

Nope, just have to pay the appropriate software licenses

Probably depends on the size of their operation. The Partner fee last I heard was too steep for a <5 person operation.

Please share your experience or knowledge about this. Thank you.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

That and you end up paying to advertise for them
