Depends what you are using your server for? If you want to host a few Org sites that would be nice offer backup for them etc... or you could always blow your 200-300gb of BW in a day on hosting porn, always a solution.

If you want to host a few Org sites

Organisation or Orgy?

I'm in the same boat ;)

I got a dedi box with a pile of bandwidth. I donated 500GB to a manga translation site my friend runs

I know of a forum of drivers who like to drift their cars around sideways on tracks. They often put videos up on their site of them at tracks like Silverstone in England. Maybe offer to somewhere like that and stick a small ad on the bottom of the page.

I mean wasting as in not being used...

So what do you guys do... just offer downlaods, etc? Doesn't this affect the load?

Mekhu, why even have your own server in that case?

I would suggest mirroring some popular software and using the advertising from it. :)

DanX... um... for hosting clients m8 :D

For some reason I just seem to attract websites that use little to no bandwidth.

Would mirroring software, etc affect my load at all? I'm assuming yes, but to what extent?

Free hosting with a text link ...

Mekhu, I don't believe the effect would be high unless you have loads of people downloading simultaneously.

I'll buy those clients off you and save you the troubles.

I'd become a freecache peer.

freecache is a mirroring service that allows people without lots of bandwidth to post big files.

Check them out: freecache.org
