Start a hosting company? :)
Contact the various ISP's in southern cali... you might be able to get in doing a standard tech support job, but once you are 'in' you could probably easily move into a more admin position. I know thats how it works with ISP's here in the midwest.

Ditto. Unless ofcourse you're a recent grad with an MIS degree. Then companies seem to be willing to offer great pay even though you don't know SQUAT.
[sorry..just venting :)]

Depends on your expertise levels really, as many companies are always looking to find great people to work alongside them ;)

As an employer in Southern California we find that the pool of potential employees is pretty good. You have to remember what California businesses have to deal with, as compared to businesses in other parts of the country:
1) Excessive payroll tax
2) Flawed workers-comp system (new reforms should go into effect next year)
3) Electricity costs higher than any other state
4) Increased regulation
5) Government bankruptcy
Just a few points to think about. We feel we have very high-quality employees, who enjoy working for us, and we feel the same.
