View Full Version : Current Dedicated Users: Bandwidth?

Hello,

This question is for current dedicated server users/current web host companies. As I have said before I am considering just starting with a dedicated server for selling web hosting accounts, rather than reselling and then having to move everyone over eventually. So my question is this... How much bandwidth do some of you actually use and how many accounts are using it? I would like to see some numbers/specs here to get an idea of what it actually may cost. One host I know of has like 40 accounts, image heavy sites (artists/photographers/etc.) that uses about 40GB a month. So tell me, what is your most popular account and how much storage and bandwith is offered and what is actually used in terms of bandwidth? I am asking because I see rackshack offers a ton of bandwidth, but is it really necessary? I see I could get a Linux or FreeBSD box with 25 to 40GB of bandwith in the $100 to $200 per month range, I am thinking that server is better than a RAQ... but I am wondering how much extra it would cost me in additional bandwidth, of if they actually use very much.

Thanks!
