aarrgggh...
I finally saved up enough money to get a second website.. I was *just* about to sign up with hostrocket. now I am having some second thoughts as the praise has turned into critiscsm. well, here goes.
I need pretty much need their economy plan (including subdomains, cgi, perl etcetera) for a comparable price from a host that doesnt suck. please keep in mind that I am a broke 14 year old.

Well you might want to talk to Kyle (Kylecool). He is 14 I believe and was a customer of HostRocket. I know he used to be a big fan of HR, but now it doesn't seem it.
I'm a future ex-customer of HostRocket and I would never recommend them to anyone. I personally think they can't handle the amount of customers they host.
The customer is never right.
if you are looking for pretty much the same thing as their virtual plan, i'd recommend phpwebhosting.com
i've been a customer since last june. it's not perfect but worked for me.
then again many ppl have different opinions about this.

I am currently using *********** (www.***********.com) an am extremely satisfied. They have had minimal downtime, and their support is excellent. For example I don't really know much about mySQL, but I am using PHPNuke for my website, well I tried to setup my database but it was a failure. So I asked them for help, and they were right there. They first setup my database, and then explained to me what I did wrong, and how to correctly do it.
Here is a link to their personal plain, which would be the cheapest they offer, it's $9.00 a month.

Edit: Weird, it seems as if WHT has censored out the company's name.

That's odd. I've seen it a couple of times before. Maybe it's a problem with vBulletin?
Regarding hosts, I can personally recommend Ventures Online. Another host which actually hasen't been recommended often on this board, but which I have had a web site hosted with for 3 years is Digital Space. Plans have limited disk space, but prices start at just $3/month (used to be $2, but it was increased). Their site is at www.digitalspace.net.
I still have a site hosted with them, and uptime has always been 99.9%. Once the server with my account at Digital Space suffered a hard drive failure, and while that did result in about a day of downtime, they restored all data -- I had uploaded new content to my site just hours before, and nothing was lost. I thought I'd mention that, as many hosts FORGET (can you believe that!?) to backup data, even if they promise to do so.

inogenius, if this is who I think it is (please do not post it), the censor is merely due to a signature violation that one member has failed to take care of. Oddly, we've still not heard back on this one, but I'd anticipate it will be uncensored soon (in theory).
