never heard of it, but looks pretty resonable, wonder why they dont support cybercash (maybe they do but i dont know what verisign calls it now)

They also accept Planet Payment, something i think alot of people always ask for

To bad they dont have an automated signup process for whatever panel you might be using

Wait -- I read that too fast. I was once a customer at Dreamhost.com and they did have an impressive billing/management system but I don't think it's the same thing :)

I haven't looked at it, but the parent company of DreamHost is New Dream Network, and I didn't see a reference to that at DreamCost.

You confused me really bad.. I did read 3 different responses from you before you started editing it. :D

I thought I was loosing it..

Dreamhost.com and dreamcost.com are not related. THey call the software they sell dreamhost.. I know is it still confusing..

I looked at it and talked to the developer a little bit. His attitude towards security disgusted me so I passed it over.

The security angle disturbed me a little as well. It only seems to have been implimented after modernbill came out with theirs. I went back to dreamcost afterwards to see it had been added, but you would have had to pay a 50% or so upgrade fee to get it. While it seems a good enough piece of software constantly paying for bug fixes or features that should be there in the core program is a bit of a problem.

Mordernbill is supposed to have their version 2.0 out sometime today or tomorrow that from all reports should be quite an impressive bit of coding.

So you think I have to pay 50% upgrade again even though it will be the same version number still ??
like 2.1 to 2.3 ??
If that's the case, that will be a fortune every time they fix something. :bawling:
I liked there system becasue it has the built in Affiliate system and Help desk.

I tried to contact them but the website have no email contact or form to fill.

That's what I understood from the website I saw (their older one). As for the e-mail thing, I did see a link to a page that said to fill out the form below, but no form was there.

For a system you'll be basing your whole billing structure on (ie, the bit that makes you money), support just doesn't seem up to the task in my opinion.

Modernbill (which we did buy), has released three versions so far, which are all free upgrades. The first couple are useable, though we're waiting on version 2 before beginning to impliment it (due to be released within a day or so). 6 months free support/upgrades come with the very affordable price, and 6 months after that is $17 or so

Ubersmith is an alternative, but we decided a third party option wasn't what we wanted to use.

well you can cancel out NocSoft's billing program because unlikely you will see nocsoft panel be released sometime this century

eager to see jag's new panel to be released, that is suppose to have a billing program built into it as well

any others come to mind that could be easily configurable with a control panel (IE: We are not looking since we already have whnbilling, but it would be nice to pass along these links to hosts that dont ;-) )

Agreed, I never like 3rd party software (specially when it comes to billing)

:D I liken NOCSoft to chasing rainbows.. once you think you know where it is and run towards it, it keeps moving further away *lol*

Incidently, why did you guys stop whnbilling? Just too much trouble to support along with everything else? Just curious.. point me at a thread if I missed it

H-Sphere ( http://www.psoft.net ) has built in merchant account integration and billing management. Seems to be a pretty good panel too.

the main main reason why we stopped offering it was because of a high rate of chargebacks, before i had put in the normal blocks we do on web hosting customers.

We got quite a few sales, but also a handfull of chargebacks. A $40.00 chargeback isnt as bad as a $600.00 chargeback, so after XX chargebacks, i told simon that i had enough of it.

I was considering to buy this product. Glad I did not and choose for ModernBill, after reading bad stories on WHT. Pitty, it looked like a real good product.

Modernbill is a good alternative. I ordered it on Sunday night, like 1 Am and at 4 AM they were installing it for me. They have excellent support. It does not have as many features as Dreamcost, but they are working on it to expand it. It should work for you. :)
