I've heard of people hiring staff on commision for web hosting services. If this is the case then what % of commision do you pay them?

Maybe I worded the question wrong. In other words "What percentage of the sale should I give the sales person?"
10% ?

ie: Sells a $10 a month account - they get $1 a month

I've heard of this model being very successfull someone getting 1$ of a sale means crap to them but make all the accounts be year and give them like 20$ and they could sell 3-4 a day and be set.

not sure if 10% would cover it. A lot of affiliate programs run at 10% or more, and all they need to do is whack up a banner. For a fully active sales guy you'd probably need to pay them a bit more than that...

I think 10% is too low.

What % do you think then?

It depends on the final price.
If it is $10, then 10% of it is $1.

Not an attracting commission.

I don't know alot of people that work on commission only. I would think they expect a certain hourly rate or at least more than 10% commission on sales.
