Is it possible for us Canadians to get a bank account in the US?

yes, generally you can, what I believe you have to do though is to form a US Corporation though. There are many schools of though in what state you incorporate, I lean towards Delaware, because that is where I live :) but it is generally cheaper here and they have very friendly corporate laws. Most online incorporating companies will also aid you in setting up a US Bank account too. One that I know that does do this is CorpAmerica.com, I also believe that Incorporate.com will do it as well, both have chat rooms to answer your questions.

You can also get a US business bank account if you register your trade name. This is also accepted (you don't need Inc.).

You can also get a US bank account if you have a US mailing address and you walk into a US bank. You don't have to give them your social security number if you don't want to, that would be against the constitution.

Also how much will you need to pay for tax and other fees each year?

Articles of corporation are filed at the state level. The filing fees vary. Call your secretary of state's office and ask.

You can often get a lawyer that specializes in this to prepare the paperwork for around $250, but you still have to pay the filing fee when you file it with the state.
