PayPal is probably one of the most popular systems out there and yet you can only get it if your Americian. Why can't us Canadians get it?

I thought Canada could use PayPal.
Seems there were only a few countries that were excluded.

On a related note, I'm based in Ireland and while I can get PayPal, I can not transfer funds to my bank account (they only allow money to be wired to US bank accounts). This makes it useless for receiving money.

I'm using 2checkout.com to receive payments anyway, but I'm considering adding PayPal as an option, so I'd be interested to find out how I can set up a US bank account, if that is possible at all.

Paypal will send money to accounts in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the UK, in addition to the US. While this doesn't help you, I'm sure they are working on adding Ireland to that list; I'd guess it is mostly a problem of dealing with local banking regulations which has kept them out of many countries so far.

Thanks. I had forgotten that they could wire money to UK bank accounts. I can get an account over there easily.

Since when? When I tried (a while ago) I couldn't.... Did I just miss something and I could, is it a new feature, or is it possible?
