For the uninitiated, does anyone know what these terms exactly refer to:
"Level3 DS3/Oc3, MCI Oc12, and Globix Oc3 on the way."

Learner diyoha 10-18-2000, 06:19 PM Go to the bottom of this web page. Explains bandwidth levels really nicely: http://www.bandwidth.com/ later David Chicken 10-18-2000, 06:54 PM -and Level3, MCI, and Globix are the carriers (providers of the lines). diyoha 10-18-2000, 07:20 PM Originally posted by Chicken -and Level3, MCI, and Globix are the carriers (providers of the lines). I think the carriers of the lines are independent of the actual speed levels. Correct me if I am wrong here. ie MCI could provide a DS3, OC3, OC12 etc. etc. David Matt Lightner 10-18-2000, 07:43 PM Sounds a lot like VDI's network. No. Sounds EXACTLY like VDI's network. :) Matt mlightner@site5.com JayC 10-18-2000, 09:26 PM Originally posted by diyoha [QUOTE] I think the carriers of the lines are independent of the actual speed levels. Just to clarify, Learner's original quoted line means the network connections are DS3/OC3 provided by Level 3, an OC12 provided by MCI, and an OC3 provided by Globix ("on the way" just meaning it was not yet operational at the time of writing). |
