Is it me, or does this look extremely similar to Kunal's phpSupportDesk - especially the admin section?

I was just thinking the same darn thing.. LOL I don't know if it is the same but man they sure do look a lot a like.

Kunal isn't happy and has emailed them about it.

I really hope it is just co-incidence - but it does look dodgy.

Could be the same code :)

Could be the same code

Not the same code, I have never owned a copy of phpsupportdesk.

By looking at the phpsupportdesk site they require
having the zend optimizer installed, which would tell me
that they have used the Zend Encoder on their product
which would make it not possible to steal their code.
And yes Kunal did emaill us, replied waiting on him to give me a call.

Also we have 2 versions one standard and the other using PSA
database, for instant support account when customers are
setup using Plesk controls.

For those that have emailed me I will be getting back to you
today.

Regards,
Ray

phpSupportDesk only used Zend in it's last release - before that it was normal PHP Code.

I don't think Kunal will call you as he is in Pakistan (I think) :)

Would be more than happy to compare the code. Once he contacts
me I will look into it.

Well, it does look VERY alike PhpSupport Desk

As far as looks go, lots of software packages have the same look
and feel such as,

phpBB - http://phpbb.sourceforge.net/phpBB/

openBB - http://community.iansoft.net/

vBulletin - http://www.vbulletin.com/

Also the majority of programs you run everyday have preatty much the
same interface, windows programs ect... Sometimes there are standards
that are used. But we don't want others to think we copied the code,
I'll send a part of our program to Kuinal and let him compare the code himself.

Ray

Thats Great! I can already tell you the code is freshly made by you and not copied, because of your activeness and participation. YOu will share part of your code, so you are being honest. That's GOOD! Thank you!

As the only portion of our program that looks close to identical is the admin section
we will change the layout of it. The other portions are different then
the rest of phpsupportdesk, we will not change. As far as code
goes our code is ours. I have spoken with Kunal myself, told him
we would change the admin layout, no problems for me. It is as Wildways
said "co-incidence " that it looks the same.

But the code is ours, and anyone wants to disput it feel free to contact me.

Ray

If you could find room for one more beta tester I would appreciate it. If you do have room for one more, and it TRIALS well on my server, then you can count on my credit card number as a followup. If your support is half as good as your application seems to be then I am sure my other clients would consider giving you their credit card numbers as well !!!

I like PhP Support Desk, and the idea that your product might look like theirs does not bother me in the least. I came along too late to their beta-test party, I am hoping that you might find one more seat for me at yours.

rlbutler,

Would you be more interested in our Plesk Integrated Version or the standard version?

Baisc difference is with the PSA Integrated version when ever you
sign up a client through Plesk Controls there CP username and Password
for support are also used for the support system. Plus a few other
features we are currently working on.

You can contact me directly at ray@cwd-solutions.com or via ICQ: 126520036

Ray
