Can anybody recommend a good motherboard to use for building a new server. I have been doing my research and thought i would broaden my research by someone posting a board i have not already found, so if you have any suggestions please post it here.

I can't reocmmend any. You lack information needed for selecting a moderboard.

1. What type of CPU?
2. Single or Dual
3. How much RAM are you planning to have?

At least provide those three information please...

This isnt going to server web pages but it will be serving Databases (SQL) on a Windows 2000 platform.

Single CPU
CPU- Athlon 1.4 Ghz + or possibly Athlon MP
RAM - 512MB - 1 GB
