My current observations:
cPANEL:
Great to offer to people who aren't as technical, people who rely on a million inbuilt features that they will most probably never use anyway.
Looks nice with its great eye candy.
Is a little unstable, more possibilities for vulnerabilities as it comes with too many open-source packages.
Best use: For SHARED hosting (satisfy the user).
PLESK:
Very stable, supports FreeBSD and Linux.
Great for large networks, very practical for the administrator.
In relation to security, it is tighter, there are barely any vulnerabilities publicly available for PLESK itself.
(The daemons it runs is another issue).
Secure and Stable, perfect for people who don't require extra features etc. such as SERIOUS Businesses.
Server performs much better with PLESK, you could fit up to 1500 users on ONE Dual Xeon 2.4 Ghz (4 GB RAM) machine.
ENSIM:
Difficult to say with this one really ... it does not support BSD,
which is a bit of a problem. However, it runs very well on Linux machines, specifically FEDORA and REDHAT.
I think this would also be similar to cPANEL, being a good system for SHARED HOSTING.
Do any of you have more INDEPTH detail as to
what FTP DAEMONS and MAIL DAEMONS these use ?
Have any of you been able to CHANGE those daemons AND PROPERLY configure them so that you cuold ADD/MODIFY accounts through THE interface or AN interface ?
Also one more thing - in PLESK, the RESELLER account is the 'client' but what if your NORMAL USER accounts for DOMAINS wants a 2nd DOMAIN ? They're only allowed ONE, being site owner of it.
So PLESK RESELLER and PLESK MULTIPLE DOMAIN USER are using the SAME interface ? (PLESK CLIENT)
