I enabled IRC status, but it's not displaying... Does it only work if I use the Java app? I'm using mIRC...

He should go buy $75k worth of scratch/win lottery tickets instead. That way he has something to do when he's flat broke, and living on the streets.

Was there ever a "what-happened-next" thread posted for this or did he just fall off the face of the Earth?

He hasn't done it yet, it's on UK TV tonight at 9pm on Sky One.

Not long to go now. But to be honest I think it has to be a set up. I think he is going to lose everything because if Sky One are going to be following him for a bit after this then it will be a lot more exciting watching someone with nothing, than someone with £150,000 because it's not like he's rich and going to be going out doing crazy things, you can't even get a nice house down south for that much!

You can't even have a nice house for that money over here anywhere. Not even half of it..

Vortex-Steve

Well, he just won $260,000, not bad.

He picked red by the way, which is what I thought he should do!

How much money did Sky give him for the programmes though? Surely that would've been plenty anyway...

Apparently they didn't pay him anything. But I'm not so sure about that.

But the odds are much, much worse with scratch off or lottery tickets. Roulette's just a straight 50/50 shot if you bet a color -- the best odds you'll get in a casino.

But if they guy was a better poker player he wouldn't be in this situation. :)

Actually in Roulette, the odds aren't exactly 50/50, in UK there's the 0 and the US has 0 and 00, which means that the odds that you win are reduced even further.

Wonder if mine works.

I got a feeling it was fixed. Think about it. How many people that see this will want to go to the casino now?...

By the way, there are places in the US that use the European-style wheel with just the single 0 -- though they may not be always open and may be in high-roller rooms.
