You su to root and it wouldn't allow you to run the uninstaller? That seems odd...

very odd. who owns the uninstallers then?

I was told that you shouldn't uninstall software from the RaQ. I've got Webalizer 1.3 installed on my RaQ and wanted to uninstall it but was told that people have had problems with the server after uninstalling. Stuff like the server doesn't work anymore.

So I've still got Webalizer 1.3 running on my server with Webalizer 2.0 :)

hmm. i don't know about that. i've uninstalled webalizer, mysql, and neomail(3 times!) before, and they all worked fine. i think more of the solid official packages have better uninstallers than others, but yeah. i haven't had any problems at all in the past uninstalling.

but yeah, i guess every system is it's own....something...

i was told the same by RS indeed and experienced major problems after uninstalling mysql.
what will happen if i install 2.0 without removing 1.3 ?
I don't want to take any risks as there are 130 customers on the raq..
