View Full Version : Has anyone here ever tried using those Crest WhiteStrips?
Synthetic 04-08-2004, 05:06 PM I'm considering purchasing a pack of Crest WhiteStrips Premium, but first wanted to know if anyone here's ever used them, and if so what results you had.
If they actually do work, then the $50 CDN I'm about to spend should be worth it.
I've also heard of the professional/supreme brands that are available only through dentists, but strangely no one around me seems to carry them. Those that do require that I be a patient.
So, do they work or what?
Derrick 04-08-2004, 05:19 PM I have used the normal style and they do work. But if you drink tea, coffee, soda, or smoke forget about it because after a week or so they will be back to the same way as before.

Drinking soda, coffee, or tea can be OK, only in moderation. I love when they advertise their commericials, for Crest, they have some girl sipping on a pop, and the others eating Junk food...didja notice that?
DelPierro 04-08-2004, 05:32 PM I got 2 packs off eBay for USD 28 (Expiry date is next month), as far as the result, it's amazing. I could tell the difference after one week. However, the only thing about it, is it only whitens the 5 ~ 6 front teeth.
viGeek 04-08-2004, 06:24 PM Funny this thread popped up, I just bought a two week supply of Crest White Strips - Premium from CVS last night, haven't used them yet but ill let you know how it turns out.
Does anyone know if there are any undesireable side-effects such as yellowing (after the white goes away), or enamel damage... etc.?
zerosix 04-08-2004, 10:28 PM Don't products like those make your teeth very sensitive?
I consulted my dentist about those..
What do you guys think?

Yes its true and thats why I went away from them..
I was using them for about my 6th time, and all the sudden I had sharp pains in my mouth, I ripped them right out of my mouth and rinsed it repeatedly with warm water..
This things hurt, and when they hurt, they hurt alot, my dentist basically told me the key is to just suck up the pain and deal with it...
oh geez... I hate that sharp pain I get in my teeth sometimes (it's actually very effective to keep me off sweets because it HURTS)
wow... they make your teeth hurt?
Yup, and the dentist ones are even stronger, I wonder how much THEY would hurt... yowza's...
I actually just started again, thanks to this thread lol, im going to see how long it takes for the pain to come back, and see how bareable it is, just finished with my first set tonight, ill keep you guys updated on the status, aswell as how good they are working.
hostfreak 04-09-2004, 12:23 AM Hey, my sister used them. She had no problem with them at all. And they seemed to work.
codywatkins 04-09-2004, 01:44 AM This just reminded me to start using mine! They have been in the cupboard for a while now!
Trifolic 04-09-2004, 03:37 AM Brush your teeth 3 times a day and you won't have to worry about it.
Derrick 04-09-2004, 09:16 PM Brush with a sensitive tooth paste it will go away.

Hosemeyer 04-09-2004, 10:03 PM I used to/still do chew alot of whitening gum, and it has done alot. I've seen people use the crest white strips, but no one for an extended period of time.

I didn't notice if it actually worked..
Hosemeyer 04-09-2004, 11:38 PM Eclipse works if you chew it for long enough, its not an immediate result type of thing, over a few weeks of chewing it every day it helps out quite a bit. I agree, I enjoy orbit much more than eclipse, but eclipse does more.... (atleast for me)

does anyone know why this is? i love tea and i cant stop drinking it. why cant they just make something thats useful? is it worth paying the 35$ for the whitning strips or not?
NE-Andy 04-10-2004, 12:33 AM I've been looking at it for quite a bit now... frankly, I think its a bit too over advertised. I'm using dental gum and its great :) Speaking of which, gotta buy another box next week...
Hostex Australia 04-10-2004, 01:33 AM lol, Crest doesn't exist in AUS.....I'm guessing they make toothpaste?
