Roundtrip time to www.totalhost.cc (216.135.233.5) average = 537ms min = 532ms max = 568ms
Your network is pretty slow from here.
Which Control panel are you offering?
Do you provide 24x7x365 free support?
What is uptime? Do you own NOC?
If you are giving Ensim or Plesk then 2500

Ouch, thats not good ping times.. Where are you located? We have been running ping tests, and we average 150 from outside US and 40-50 ms from inside US? We have our own facility, we have not had any downtime recently, a control panel can be added(depending on what your bid is), we have 24/7 support. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Total Host, could you please post more details? What's the price for additional IPs, transfer, upgrades(RAM/HD)...

Also, when is this auction ending? Is it 11/11/01 or the deadlline listed on the auction site?

Thanks,

1.2 Ghz Athlon
512 Mb Ram
80 Gig HD
50 Gig Transfer
2 IP Addresses

Price w/ setup fee: 219.95/m 170.00 setup fee

Price without setup fee: 249.95 /m

Hey.. the bid on the link you gave us was at $80. Why did you delete the auction link? I was gonna bid $85.

Next time... perhaps you should just tell the truth... that you won't take bids that are too low (below $200?).

TotalHst
11-11-2001, 05:12 PM
No one was actively bidding we expected it to go above at least 150, we cannot give a way an expensive server for 80 dollars a month. If you guys like we can restart the auction at 85.00 but if no one is going to bid it is a waste of time.

Total host,
I am a bit disappointed. I assume that you are a new company and you are trying to start up with a promotion? This is a good deal, and $150 per month for this server seems a good price. However, since this is a promotion, you should expect you take a loss in return of word-of-month and referral. I don't think this is good business to just pull off the auction and sell the server for a typical price. $249 is not exactly a bargain price.

Peter

Our appologies, we have re listed the auction, we did not know that this would be a disappointment, since it did not seem like much activity. Below is the link for the auction, happy bidding!

So i take it that even though you have stated that you would prefer to have over $150 per month for the server if a bid is placed for say $85 then by law your obliged to go with this price right.

Would you honour this or not?...

This has become to confusing, we will repost a new thread as soon as we are allowd to by WHT. Please look for this, it will be a similiar concept but more detailed. Thank You!

So are you going to be offering a second dedicated server, or are you (again) canceling the auction?

TotalHst
11-13-2001, 08:50 PM
We will most likely restart everything once we get a clean thread going. If everyone understands what is being offered and how to bid etc, then this is not needed but as of right now it doesn't seem like many people get the idea..

Wow things are just getting more and more confusing here aren't they :) Well that must be your connection even thought 100 ms is very fast, we ping really low of of tracert.com. Around 20-30 ms.

Just a thought, instead of saying you do good on tracert.com paste a test in here and let the numbers speak for you.

Overall load times for your site looked real good. Pings were around 60-150 which seems about average to me.

It's a pretty big paste so I didn't paste.

I saw that, but pinging from one single host to your host isn't a good overall "picture" at tracert.com you can choose 10 hosts from across the world to ping/tracert/etc to your site and that gives a nice overall "how good are my pipes" picture.

Looked like your times weren't off the mark I tried it from 5 US sites and 5 non-US sites and they were all quite acceptable.

TotalHst
11-16-2001, 06:55 PM
Yes, this has been discussed earlier in the thread this is what we ment by this, we specificly gave the number from around the world, to inside USA, etc. We will be posting a new thread shortly which will be a revised version of this offer. Thank You.
