Hey all just wondering what the best help desk methods are out there. Currently at www.xanthion.com I'm using something I really like. Online/offline notification on the website through image changes, user requests a chat, I accept, everything goes nicely. Problem is this thing is based on their site - www.thelivehelp.com - which I find a bit annoying. I have to go to their site, login, etc etc. I'd much rather have it hosted by myself if possible.

So what are the commonly used and loved ones out there? Cheap is obviously better then expensive, and free is better than both ;-)

Thanks in advance for all responses

Another thunbs up for Help Center Live here too :)
Great script.
I use perldesk for the helpdesk but I use Help Center Live for live chat and the helpdesk looks good, but I still like the interface of perldesk and have been using that for a good while now which is why Im sticking with it

I use Help Center Live (www.helpcenterlive.com) for my help desk software. It's very easy to customize, and it's efficiency is excellent. The newest version (1.2.4) has a few bugs in it, but from what I'm hearing, 1.3 corrects almost all of these bugs, and adds a few new features.

The software is progressing very well, and is always a right choice, in my opinion. It's also free and released under the GPL.

Believe it or not I used the search feature before posting this thread, and relunctantly posted, knowing someone would say that. I just didn't find anything particularly useful in the search.

To the responders, thank you very much for your input I'll look into those. Anybody else?

Ok I've seen this HCL before. The reason I didn't start using it was it seemed impossible to integrate it into the current layout at my website. Is it possible to integrate the sign-in and other features as opposed to using the less the beautiful blue layout they provide?

WE have Help CEnter Live, but use the one integrated into phpCoin which seems to do just fine.

bravo could you explain that more if you have the time? I'm a bit confused. And Inverseflow doesn't seem to be operating anymore.

hi,

HCL is template based and you can integrate into the current layout at your website very easy -> just make another theme :-)

We use PHPLive! from http://www.phplivesupport.com/

Widely used and excellent piece of software.

For a Helpdesk, we just use clientexec's integrated system, works like a charm.

Just spent alot of time integrating Help Center Live into my website's layout and I like it. I'm one second away form buying the WinAp, but now I've just seen: http://livehelp.stardevelop.com/index.htm

which looks very promising (And pretty :)

Wondering what people think?
