Aloha
figured I would start a new thread on this ;)
figure some users may get good ideas form this ??

I have a few base installs one is just the bare OS with all patches etc...
the other install is all my base programs MS OOffice,Ultradev, Photoshop (this alone with all filters etc.. can take a day ) all other programs I use daily

so have these base installs that I run ghost on and save to another drive. I redo my OS every 6 months or so just to keep garbage and that from trying out stuff.
so anyway I ghost em off on a HD and then when I want to get a clean start agian I just reinstall my ghost put over my pref etc.. takes a day to do this way rather than 4 days to do all the crap ya have to do
I have a few disks one for games one for Music one for work
I want to try out a new program I am not sure of
I ghost off on a drive my current install try it out and see how it goes if it is good cool ;) then I no I can install it

I have enough drives laying around this is no prob especially with swapable bays

not sure if others do anything like this ????

On my main PC, it has 3 HDs.

I keep my garbage on the additional HDs and use the main HD for OS and critical programs only.
When the time comes, I simply format the main HD and reinstall as well as my programs. It generally takes 4 to 5 hours to do that.

Let's hope my storage HDs don't get burned. heh
On other addtional PCs I have. I use Zip disks to save critical information.
