I am currently doing some webhosting for free for a friend. I primarly deal with game servers. However I had a quick question. What is the best way to allow a user to upload/update his website since I am using apache?

He is currently updating his site via ftp. I know there has to be an easier way. I used to run Cobalt Raq Servers and some ISS servers and it was built in with the OS. Is this true about Apache as well or do I have to get a 3rd party software?

Thanks in advance.

You would need a third-party software which would enable your clients to manage their files via http and possiblly include a WYSIWYG editor (if that too, is needed).

Thanks for the quick reply.

Since I am only doing this for one user it probobly is pretty spendy for the program?

What is a good name that people are using now adays?

Just out of curiousity.

I know of a windows-based solution; YusASP http://www.yusasp.com

Although I'm sure there are low-cost/free alternatives available for *nix. Try a search on HotScripts.com :)
