I recently opened a reseller account. I then created the nameservers. One of my sites is working perfectly fine, but my main site greinerdesign.com is giving me problems.
I had friends in New York check and they have no problems finding the site, when I try I get page not found error.
I cleaned out my cache but that didn't help.

I checked at http://combat.uxn.com/ and it says the site has no assigned nameserver. I am completely confused. Can anybody help me out?

your domain GREINERDESIGN.COM is routing fine from india. (at same ip address as your ns1.greinrdesign.com) i think you have to wait for some time before your isp update there name server catch. or you may try browsing your web site using different isp and you will find your web site working fine.

hope this will help. cheerssssssss

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't know if it has anything to do with my isp because I went to my neigbour and used AOL without success.
I will give it another 24h before I get really worried.

My first thought would be DNS poisoning. That means another
DNS server somewhere in the world is claiming to "own" your
domain name. It's especially annoying when a large ISP
makes these mistakes since no customer of that ISP will be
able to reach your domain.

The best way to check this is to find out which name servers
your ISP is using and do a 'dig'* on these name servers to
find out if your domain is pointing to the wrong IP-address.

( dig @replace.with.your.isps.nameserver yourdomain.com A )

Hope this helps,

Erik,
You reply has left me a little confused: you mentioned DNS poisining, wouldn't that prevent anybody from seeing my site? How does that apply specifically to my ISP?
What is 'dig'?

Thanks,

dig is an incredible command line tool used to troubleshoot DNS issues. It is installed on most *nix systems.

No, if an ISP decides to make themselves the rimary name server for your domain, only the people who query those nameservers will get bad information. That's part of the beauty of a distributed DNS system.

Strangely enough, everything was fine for about two hours this afternoon except that the mail forwarding did not work. But now my site is gone again. ------>:bawling:
