Good time of day to you all.
I am the proud owner of a web design company in Israel. For quite a while we`ve been hosting our websites on phpwebhosting. Don`t start laughing and pointing at me. How was i supposed to know that they are that bad?
Anyway. After some rather unpleasant events, we have decided to :
1 - Get the hell out of phpwebhosting and never come back.
2 - Offer webhosting services by ourselves.
Easier said then done.
Currently we have already accumulated aproximatelly 30GB of traffic/month. It is expected to grow to about 40GB/month in the next 2-3 months (all sites combined of course). Surely, we want to host other sites on the same package.
A good dedicated server is hard to find and even harder to finance, so we figured to be a reseller for a company which also offers dedicated services for reasonable price so that if or when the time comes - we could easily switch from being a shared hosting reseller to a dedicated server.
The best deal on a dedicated server was at Internet Utopia. Unfortunatelly they do not offer reseller packages.
Basically the package that we are looking for is:
Bandwidth - either fixed pipe of let`s say 0.5/mbps or at least 50GB/month
Space - no less than 500MB
MySQL,PHP4,Perl mod_php, mod_perl.....
SSL,SSI
Unlimited subdomains
Unlim POP3 users
FTP accounts - no less than 6
domains - no less than 6
mysql simultaneous connections - no less then 50
mysql DBs - no less than 5
No adult content, no mp3, no files. Just chat, couple of forums, lots of text and lots of users.
Most sites are updated daily, several times.
As to the price - a week ago i would say - no more than $50/month. Today - i am open to suggestions. If and when i find a deal i like with the easy option of transfering to an affordable dedicated server - chances are i`ll take it.
If anyone out there heard of such a plan or using one now - i`d be very greatfull to hear about it.
Lately i have come to think that what i am asking for is impossible but as they say - hope dies last :)
Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.
