A friend of mine happened to delete his dabase through Cpanel, and he did not have a backup.

Is there a way to recover it?

PS. oh my, his hosting company doesnt' do backup for his site, they had only 1kb backup for his lost database which was about 6MB.

I do not think there is a way to recover it. If the host does not have it backed up, I believe it may very well be gone.
